Coronavirus: Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds meeting with leaders of SAARC countries on corona crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Narendra Modi) stressed the need to be vigilant by communicating with leaders and representatives of SAARC (SAARC) countries to form a joint strategy to deal with the corona virus through video conferencing. Also, he appealed not to panic. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa proposed the formation of the SAARC Ministerial Group to address issues related to the corona virus. So far, more than 5000 people have died due to corona virus worldwide.

Apart from Modi, Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Maldives President Ibrahim Mohammad Solih, Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Bhutan Lotte Tshering, Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, besides Modi in the dialogue through video conferencing, Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were joined by special assistant Zafar Mirza on health matters. In his opening address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “There have been about 150 cases of corona virus infection in the SAARC region, but we need to be vigilant.” Be prepared but do not panic … This is our mantra. He told the leaders of SAARC countries that we had started the investigation of people entering India from mid-January in view of the spread of Corona virus and gradually increased the travel ban.
